Horizons at San Francisco Friends School (SFFS)  works to support the bright futures of students from low-income backgrounds in San Francisco's Mission District. Horizons provides joyful academic and enrichment learning opportunities that build on the skills and talents of students in SF public schools. The program begins in Kindergarten and serves its students through 8th Grade through a comprehensive summer program as well as tutoring and enrichment opportunities during the school year. Beyond 8th grade, Horizons students receive recurring high school success workshops as well as mentorship and internship opportunities.   Position Overview
Horizons at SFFS is seeking an enthusiastic nonprofit professional to serve in the role of Development and Operations Coordinator. Reporting to the Development Director, this role will support the growth and impact of Horizons' youth program by supporting development strategies and administration to achieve Horizons at SFFS' annual fundraising objectives.  
  The ideal candidate has experience in fundraising (including grant writing), communications, overseeing administrative operations, and working with databases. They are detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. The ideal candidate is excited to work as a team player with Horizons' staff and eager to help increase the quality and impact of Horizons' programs. They possess a personal commitment to educational equity and social justice and a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of students and families who attend San Francisco public schools. 
  ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Development Operations - 65%
Collaborate with the Director of Development and Executive Director to execute Horizons' annual fundraising strategy, including design and implementation of donor stewardship, our annual fundraising event, our annual appeal, our peer-to-peer campaign, and grant applications and data collection.
Create and maintain systems, strategies or schedules for effective donor outreach, segmentation, communication, cultivation, and stewardship Oversee the gift acknowledgement process, ensuring all gifts and pledges are stewarded in a timely fashion; generate pledge reminders, communicate and coordinate with the SFFS departments responsible for processing donations Support in soliciting both in-kind and monetary support for Horizons, when appropriate.  Support with the operations side of planning Horizons' Annual Benefit. This includes coordinating publicity, sponsorships, event software, and helping operationalize ticket sales, processing gifts, and supporting other event needs as appropriate. Support creation of Annual Appeal and Peer-to-Peer campaign materials, analyze results, and make recommendations to the ED and Assoc. Director of Development and Communications to increase reach, participation, and gift level Research foundation and corporate grant prospects and support the timely drafting, submission, and tracking of proposals and reports to funders Assist in the facilitation of planning and support for moves management of individual donors including compiling up-to-date biographical and readiness information on current and prospective donors and grants  Manage Salesforce database entry and management of donor/grant information, notes, and opportunities  Manage strong documentation in Salesforce including updating all constituent information, producing mailing labels and lists, creating and updating donor reports Support general development work as needed General Operations - 35%
Support general organizational administration efforts in collaboration with the whole Horizons at SFFS team, including the Director of Academic Programs, to improve internal systems and processes for our year-round operations.
  Summer program planning and execution
Drive job description development and oversee postings on job board sites Oversee the hiring process of our summer team by screening, tracking, and overseeing communications with applicants Support program operations as a member of the operations team  Other operational support
Serve as a liaison to the business office to support smooth communication/execution of financial, personnel, and other operations  Support financial tracking and reporting processes Oversee board meeting operations including set up, note taking, and take down Document and refine operational processes across the organization Support general organization operations as needed QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
2+ years experience in a development and/or operations/administrative role Understanding of and commitment to the Horizons at SFFS mission and vision Reliable, collaborative and flexible Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines Detail oriented: accurate and efficient with a high level of analytic and problem-solving skills Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to effectively relate to Horizons' diverse community of staff, partners, donors, volunteers, board members, children, and parents.  Commitment to fundraising ethics and respect for confidentiality of donor information Positive attitude and strong work ethic Ability to give and receive feedback and work both independently and collaboratively 4-year college degree or equivalent experience Ideal
Fluency in spoken and written Spanish Familiarity with website management,  Adobe Photoshop and/or InDesign Experience and passion working with children, youth and/or families of color, including immigrant and monolingual families Strong computer skills; proficiency with MS Office suite and Google apps required, experience with using a CRM (such as Salesforce) is a plus Event planning experience,  cultivation and fundraising events is a plus Compensation
  This is a non-exempt position and may be filled as a full-time or part-time role. The role includes participation in periodic evening and weekend events. The salary range for the full-time Development and Operations Coordinator position is $63,000 - $70,000, commensurate with experience. This position includes vacation, health, dental, retirement, and vision benefits. Physical requirements:
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
