Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a Communications Director to oversee a broad range of duties to ensure a consistent communications strategy for assigned client (school, business unit or entity) at UAB. Collaborates and interacts with all necessary parties, including but not limited to, faculty, staff and students to identify various marketing, publications and media relations needs. Creates strategies to respond to those needs. May oversee management of website content for assigned entity/entities. Responsible for web analytics, multimedia content and data collection instruments. Manages the use of social and other electronic media for delivering integrated messaging to reach broad audiences which may consist of students, parents, alumni, donors, faculty, and others within the university community. Serves as the lead creative / technical writer and editor for assigned client.
Identify & create strategies for various marketing, publications, and media relations needs. Manage team/staff to ensure a consistent communications strategy for the newly created Graduate School & International Education unit. Oversee management of website content for unit. Responsible for web analytics, multimedia content, and data collection to analyze effectiveness of various communications and recruitment campaigns. Serve as the lead creative & technical writer and editor for unit. Responsible for Annual Report, Dean's Newsletter, Student Spotlight, website content. Manage social and other electronic media to deliver integrated messages to reach broad audiences which may consist of graduate and international students, prospective students, alumni, faculty, and others within the university community. Perform other duties as assigned. Annual Salary Range: $60,835 - $98,855 Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Business, Communications, Journalism or a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
