Ability Building Community (ABC) is looking for a Communications and Development Specialist to join our team!Mission Statement:The mission of Ability Building Community (ABC) is to provide services for individuals with disabilities through community inclusion.ABC has provided vocational support, recreation/leisure activities, and independent living services to people with disabilities in the Rochester, Caledonia, and La Crescent, MN, areas since 1956.About the job:PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop and maintain internal and external communications for the agency.Work to produce all communications materials in a timely manner, including Constant Contact, newsletters, annual report, brochures, and monthly staff newsletters.Update and maintain the website for the agency.Develop and execute social media communication plan and manage/maintain social media platforms for the agency.Assist in producing audio and video presentations for broadcast to internal and external audiences.Work with internal staff to create and design content related to recruitment advertising.Assist with other public relations and communications projects, as assigned.Manage Results Plus database.Responsible for assisting with planning and execution of ABC Fundraising and Public Relations events.Assist with research and writing of grant proposals for service, capital expenditures and special projects as requested by the Public Relations Manager.Serve as the Volunteer Coordinator for the agency.Assist in development, implementation and coordination of policies and procedures for the ABC volunteer program.Develop and oversee recruitment, training, assignment and evaluation of event and program volunteers.Schedule & Compensation:This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position with primarily regular daytime hours Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend hours will occur, on occasion, for event purposes.Starting at $19.50 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
