Maximus is searching for a Cloud Developer - Legacy Modernization Specialist for a team in Arlington, VA.
The highly skilled and motivated Cloud Developer will demonstrate a focus on legacy modernization to join our dynamic team. As a Cloud Developer, you will play a crucial role in architecting and modernizing a mission application, ensuring a scalable and highly available implementation using cloud-based platforms in the DoD Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in legacy systems, experience with C, C#, and SQL, and a passion for overcoming technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Provide technical oversight and guidance, conduct architecture and design reviews for legacy systems modernization.
• Distill requirements and design objectives and goals from legacy code, diagrams, interfaces, forms, and documentation.
• Present technical solutions and participate in architecture and design reviews for both internal teams and end clients.
• Architect, design, and lead efforts in securing cloud solutions with a focus on legacy application migration.
• Develop and implement a well-informed cloud strategy, regularly evaluating cloud applications, hardware, and software.
• Support open-standard data formats, such as SAML, for authentication and authorization data exchange.
• Respond to technical issues promptly and professionally.
• Gather system requirements in collaboration with application architects, product owners, and technical leads.
• Generate scripts and templates for the automatic provisioning of resources.
• Stay informed of failures and complications related to cloud offerings, especially during legacy system migration.
• Debug technical issues within a complex stack involving virtualization, containers, microservices, etc.
• Collaborate with development teams to enable legacy applications to run on cloud infrastructure.
• Support clients using Agile and DevSecOps methodologies.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and maintain highly available systems on Kubernetes with auto-scaling.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Minimum of 12 years of development experience, with at least 5 years focused on cloud technologies.
• 5 or more years of experience in multiple cloud providers, with a strong emphasis on AWS, Microsoft, and Google Cloud.
• Demonstratable knowledge and hands-on experience in leveraging AWS components like EC2 instances, load balancers, API Gateway, and SMS in a Java environment.
• 5 or more years proficiency in C, C#, and SQL for legacy system modernization.
• 3 or more years of experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Cloud deployment technologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and container platforms in cloud environments, using technologies including Subversion, GitLab, Jenkins, AWS CloudForms, and RedHat OpenShift.
• 5 or more years of demonstrated ability to support, perform, and troubleshoot deployment issues.
• Strong documentation skills, including reviewing existing documentation and creating technical specifications.
• Contribution to the development of project artifacts throughout the system development life cycle.
• Background, knowledge, and understanding of the DoD Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability environment.

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
