Title: Certified Medical Assistant CMA Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Psychiatrist/Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner/Team Leader/RN: Support service delivery by helping health care providers carry out and track the authorization of drug refills as directed; coordinating phone calls to pharmacies; managing lab work and follow up for results; Responsible for scheduling and confirming appointments, measure and record vital signs, obtaining patient history, assisting to complete drug tests Ensuring files are up to date and accurate in the E.H.R Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient care information confidential in accordance to HIPAA and other governing bodies Completing administrative and clinical task in the office and in the community Facilitate sharing of data with the individuals to whom it applies to facilitate partnered decision-making and to keep clients informed of progress Use patient data (e.g. as gleaned from standardized screenings and assessments, etc) to inform clinical decision-making and identify areas for improvement; use data to track patient progress over time Complete QI training during onboarding and participate in QI refresher training as needed Additional duties as assigned EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A certificate or associate's degree in medical assisting required. High School diploma or equivalent required. Proficient in clinical skills, health promotion and maintenance, documentation skills, strong verbal and written communication, planning, dependability, and medical teamwork. Significant computer experience required, experience with an E.H.R./computer skill (i.e. Microsoft Office knowledge, ability to use Word, Outlook, Excel etc.) Co-occurring disorder experience a plus. One-year experience in working with clients diagnosed with a severe mental health disorder preferred.
