Work Location Alba Coast Winery 
Position Purpose Acting on own initiative, this position is responsible to manage a team whose daily responsibility have a direct and indirect impact on wine supply, brand stability and quality. This includes managing team performance, measuring and communicating productivity, adhering to quality specifications, overseeing process improvements, budget/cost control and partnering with Quality Control to ensure the overall condition/operation of equipment, processes and surrounding infrastructure meets all quality standards.
Functional Responsibility Manages and monitors day-to-day operations and team performance to ensure smooth workflows and that company standards are met Manages company culture and holds self, peers, and direct reports accountable for demonstrating a constructive company culture through influential, personal behavior and actions; encourages strong work ethic and fosters an environment of trust and respect Develops and aligns individual goals with the department's operational goals; ensures that decisions, actions, and priorities are aligned with the company's vision, mission, and strategies Researches best practices, stays abreast of industry trends, and maintains awareness of regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continually improve operations Assists in preparing the departmental budget, monitors spending, and directs team in cost-effective operations to ensure adherence to financial objectives Monitors performance and regularly communicates with direct reports to achieve mutual understanding and desired results Partners with immediate manager to determine staffing needs; attracts, motivates, and retains a workforce with the appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities to achieve goals and objectives Provides employees with a safe, healthy, and rewarding work environment; ensures delivery and completion of monthly safety topics Communicates and supports change initiatives and decisions in an effective manner to successfully guide team through change Fosters a work environment that encourages creative thinking, promotes flexibility, and drives innovation Addresses employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential manner; notifies HR Business Partner and keeps immediate manager informed as appropriate Ensures compliance and consistent application of company policies, initiatives, and decisions Coaches, guides, and develops direct reports; fully engages in the GPS (Performance Management) process; provides high-quality feedback, and ensures proper GPS documentation of employee performance, recognition, and deficiencies Essential Duties Designs and implements Cellar processes that support business strategies adapted to winemaking requirements, wine supply conditions and TTB requirements Ensures efficient utilization of Cellar resources maintaining wine quality standards through planning and scheduling by taking appropriate actions to prevent operations and wine supply disruptions; ensures procedures (SWDs) are followed across shifts without deviation  Confirms all employees are participating and adhering to all aspects of Health & Safety, ISO, GMPS, and any other customer required programs; ensures the use of current and updated documentation Procures or requests materials and supplies that support production work unit's established needs; develops and initiates capital expenditures that support Company drivers based on objective data and process improvement  Ensures work unit schedules are developed, driven by short and long-term production demands, Winemaking, Supply Chain and Compliance needs Partners with Cellar Technical Trainer to develop training programs that develops employees, provides the right level of skill need for the business, and develops a high-performance culture  Monitors processes and work units' output; works with peers to make effective use of manpower and meet production demands Guides and promotes the development of measurement tools to maximize equipment throughput and procedure efficiency; uses this information to make staffing and equipment expansion recommendations that are based on planned production figures Champions clear communication with peers and across departments (Engineering, Maintenance, Quality Control, Winemaking, Supply Chain, etc.) and up and down levels to ensure unified direction, in-house project delivery, efficient process execution, cross-functional collaboration, and overall productivity/effectiveness Promotes strong collaboration, support, and daily interaction with Winemaking, R&D and Winemaking Planning to ensure maximum wine quality and process flow/equipment operational efficiencies and with Compliance Department to maintain TTB requirements for wine movement and ingredient inventory, supports yearend inventory needs Promotes and executes hands-on support as needed following "Go see" initiatives  Ensures all administrative tasks are completed on a timely manner *Other duties may be assigned

Minimum Requirements Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Business Management or equivalent 7+ years experience in the wine production field including direct supervisory/department leadership experience Experience in a Lean manufacturing environment Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong organizational skills, expert knowledge of wine production from grapes to bottle or similar food/beverage manufacturing environment.  Strong PC skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Working Conditions General office and manufacturing plant environment with limited travel Indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to the elements/temperature variations Exposure to weather-related temperature & humidity extremes Extended Hours Shift Rotation Required to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Must be able to pass fit test and perform work while wearing respirators Work at protected heights of 50' Work in close quarters or confined spaces Exposure to varying levels of dust, chemicals, fumes, gases, and noisy equipment  Work Standards Acts in a manner reflective of the Company culture of High Moral Standards, Innovation and Continuous Evolution, Trust in Team, Continuous Improvement, and Sustainable Relationships Communicates, interacts, and works effectively with others; receptive to feedback and coaching; voices concerns in a constructive manner Demonstrates commitment to safety first; communicates safety concerns; promotes a safe work environment based on established safety standards and training Follows all Company policies and procedures Additional Comments Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of the position at any time. ? California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is a Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $91,062.24 to $142,541.76. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
