Who is Pioneer Golf?
A well-established, Scottish-owned golf travel company in Austin, TX (located at Bee Cave Rd & Loop 360) that organizes golf trips for its mostly American and Canadian customers. Our clients are groups of friends or fellow country club members that are headed abroad on a golf trip.
One of the two largest golf tour operators servicing Scotland. Scotland is the #1 destination worldwide for the traveling golfer. The third or fourth largest golf tour operator servicing Ireland/Northern Ireland (the #2 destination worldwide).
An official distributor of tee times for the St Andrews Old Course, arguably the most famous golf course in the world and certainly the oldest.
Current focus is Scotland and Ireland but expanding destination offerings and looking forward to growing significantly over the next few years.
Currently, we are a team of 26 individuals.
The company is well-poised to grow significantly, and we are in the process of building a great team. Revenues have doubled this past year as compared to our best previous year due to focus on growth. Golf and travel are booming post-pandemic.
Job Responsibilities:
Operational/Process/Tech
Assist in handling/managing escalated client questions/issues/problems.
Improving and streamlining interaction and workflow between different company departments.
Establishing redundancies in Quality Control to ensure the process is not reliant on the knowhow of one individual.
In time, spearheading the wholesale reengineering of our entire business process to most effectively utilize a CRM platform, AI, and technology in general to maximize scalability and efficiency.
Financial
Improving our current AP/AR process through automation and using technology as effectively as possible. Establishing redundancies to ensure the process is not reliant on the knowhow of any one individual.
Possibly onboarding on to an accounting platform.
Tracking and managing pricing of trips to maximize profitability while managing inflation and currency risks.
Industry/Competitor analysis in order to contribute to pricing strategies.
People Management
Indirectly manage the Trip Coordinating Team (10 individuals). Directly manage the Trip Coordinating Manager (1 individual).
Directly manage the Proposals & Pricing Team (3 individuals).
Directly manage the Accounting/AP/AR Team (3 individuals).
Directly manage the Quality Control Department (1 individual).
Contribute to the onboarding/hiring and initial training of new hires and the streamlining and improvement of this process.
Ideal Candidate:
An smart individual passionate about our industry either because of a love for golf and/or travel who is an analytical numbers person with experience establishing or improving the financial processes of a business and who happens to be a business process improvement guru due to an expertise in the use of technology to improve business processes. In addition, this individual is a leader with experience managing a team of 5-50 people and has a proven track record of getting the best out of people, creating a team/environment that all staff love and value, and promotions in recognition of achievements.
Other more specific qualities:
Must have a strong attention to detail and highly developed organizational skills as we are a logistics company that prides itself in not messing up any client's dream vacation.
Needs to have well-above average computer skills and diligent time management skills.
Team player who takes initiative and establishes excellent communication channels.
Motivated and driven to meet/exceed goals and objectives.
Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes and wear many hats.
Strategic thinker with exceptional problem solving skills.
Job Type:
A pleasant, friendly environment that is very team focused.
Matching Retirement plan - 100% match (dollar for dollar) up to 3% of salary.
Health care with a 50% company contribution.
Total of 27.5 to 29.5 days (approximately 5-6 weeks) of paid time off classified as follows: Vacation: 10 days - beginning at 10 days annually and increasing with tenure (accrues daily), December Holiday Reward: 5 days - December holiday reward of an additional 5 days (accrues depending on start date) and also serves as reward for helping with our emergency phone, Personal/sick days annually: 5 days (accrues daily), 7-9 paid Public Holidays annually, and a half day off on your birthday.

Starting salary range: $80,000 to $150,000 per year (dependant on experience, skills, and/or qualifications).
