Our expertise covers a wide variety of food product categories including frozen, refrigerated and shelf stable products, seafood, bakery goods, soups and sauces, dairy products, grains, produce and snack items.
About you We are seeking a dynamic and friendly teammate who is extremely well organized, loves a good challenge and good people to work with. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for sales and a solid understanding of sales processes, prospecting techniques, and lead qualification. With a customer-centric mindset the Business Development Representative will actively listen, ask relevant questions, and tailor their approach to address specific pain points. 
An ideal BDR remains motivated despite setbacks, learns from failures, and continues to pursue leads. Tech savvy, the BDR can work well with Microsoft's full suite of products including Office 365, Teams and SharePoint as well as a wide variety of other software products including Hubspot.

Compensation:  On target earnings (OTE) potential for the first year is $81,000 - $89,000 which includes a starting base salary of $55,000 - $62,000 per year, plus commission.

They are responsible for identifying potential clients, conducting research on target markets, and proactively reaching out to prospects through various channels. The BDR nurtures leads, qualifies potential clients, and collaborates with the sales team to set up appointments or presentations. They must effectively communicate the company's value proposition, services, and solutions to prospects, showcasing how CuliNEX can meet their specific needs. The BDR also tracks and maintains a comprehensive database of leads, activities, and progress, contributing to the overall growth and success of the company.
The Business Development Representative must exhibit CuliNex Core Competencies and adhere to Core Values (see exhibits A and B).
Summary of Key Responsibilities Essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Qualifying Leads: Evaluate leads generated from marketing campaigns, identifying those with potential as sales opportunities. Assess the fit between the lead's needs and the organization's offerings. Outreach and Relationship Building: Reach out to potential clients through cold calls, emails, and other communication channels. Present the company's products or services to potential clients. Cultivate relationships from initial contact until closing deals. Market Research and Opportunity Identification: Conduct market research to identify trends, challenges, and potential areas for business growth. Stay informed about industry developments and competitor activities. Sales Quotas and Performance Metrics: Meet and exceed assigned sales quotas and key performance indicators (KPIs). Report regularly on sales results to the Leadership Team. Networking and Setting Up Meetings: Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market. Arrange meetings or calls between prospective clients and Account Executives. Product Knowledge and Presentation: Stay up-to-date with new products, services, and pricing/payment plans. Deliver engaging presentations to potential clients. CRM Usage and Data Management: Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (e.g., Hubspot ) to track leads and interactions. Analyze spreadsheets and charts using tools like MS Excel. Special Tasks This position may require a few days of out-of-state travel for conferences and trade shows as frequently as three to four times per year. Education and Experience A bachelor's/associate degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field is typically preferred. Previous experience in sales, business development, or lead generation is highly desirable, particularly in a food-product related industry. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively engaging with prospects, presenting the company offerings, and building relationships. Interpersonal Skills: The ability to establish rapport, listen actively, and understand the needs of potential clients is crucial for successful lead nurturing and conversion. Sales Acumen: A good understanding of the sales process, lead qualification, and prospecting techniques is necessary to identify and prioritize potential opportunities. Research Abilities: The BDR should be skilled at conducting market research, competitor analysis, and identifying target markets to focus their efforts effectively. Goal-Oriented: Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets and objectives is a key requirement for this role. Tech Savvy: Proficiency using sales and CRM software to manage leads, track progress, and report on activities is expected with training provided. Self-Motivated: The ideal candidate should be proactive, driven, and able to work independently, taking the initiative to pursue new business opportunities. Team Player: While the BDR works independently, collaboration with the sales team, marketing, and other departments is vital to company success. Flexibility: The ability to adapt to changing market conditions, client needs, and industry trends is valued in a fast-paced business development environment. Positive Attitude: A positive and optimistic mindset helps in overcoming challenges and maintaining a proactive approach in generating leads. Physical Work Abilities and Requirements: Mobility: The Business Development Representative may be required to move around the office environment to perform various job duties, such as delivering documents, attending meetings, and assisting colleagues. Dexterity: The position may involve the use of computers, telephones, and other office equipment, requiring the ability to manipulate small objects and perform repetitive tasks with accuracy. Visual Acuity: The Business Development Representative must have sufficient vision to read documents, view computer screens, and operate office equipment effectively. Hearing: The ability to hear and understand verbal communication is essential for effective interaction with colleagues, supervisors, and external parties. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary for conveying information, responding to inquiries, and providing excellent customer service. Sitting/Standing: The Business Development Representative may be required to sit or stand for extended periods while performing job duties. Lifting/Carrying : Occasional lifting and carrying of light to moderate objects, such as files, supplies, or equipment, may be required.
