Job Description:
San Miguel High School, a Catholic, Lasallian learning community, empowers youth from underserved families through the integration of Christian values, rigorous academics and practical work experience, educating the whole student for college, career and a fulfilling life.
The CWS Business Development Manager will be a key team member of the Corporate Work Study department (CWS) at San Miguel High School. Through the Corporate Work Study Program, every student works five full days per month to fund a large portion of their education, gain job experience, grow in self-confidence, and realize their future postsecondary goals. Students work at law firms, banks, hospitals, universities, and with other professional corporate partners.
Summary of Job Responsibilities:
The CWS Business Development Manager, supervised by the VP & Director of Corporate Work Study, plays a pivotal role in fostering relationships with corporate partners to secure employment opportunities for our student associates. This position is responsible for identifying and cultivating new leads, maintaining strong relationships with existing partners, and ensuring a high level of satisfaction and engagement from our corporate partners. The primary objectives of this role include achieving a 90% paid/funded job placement rate for our student associates, maintaining a 90% corporate partner retention rate, supporting the onboarding process for new corporate partners, and supporting the initiatives of the jobs committee to ensure the attainment of 40% of new corporate partner jobs.

• Foster personal and professional growth
Core Responsibilities:
1. Corporate Partnership Development
a. Identify, cultivate, and secure new corporate partnerships to meet job placement goals through research, networking, and outreach efforts.
b. Achieve and maintain a 90% placement rate for student associates in paid/funded positions.
c. Maintain a 90% retention rate of corporate partners through active engagement and relationship management.
d. Develop and maintain a waiting list of potential corporate partners.
2. Contract Management and Renewal
a. Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners to understand their hiring needs, objectives, and challenges.
b. Collaborate with partners to develop tailored solutions that meet their needs while providing meaningful employment opportunities for our student associates.
c. Support the VP of CWS with the annual contract renewal process, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
d. Communicate with corporate partners to update contracts and address any changes or needs.
3. Committee Leadership and Event Planning
a. Work closely with the jobs committee to ensure the successful placement of student associates in 90% paid/funded jobs.
b. Alongside the VP of CWS, support the strategic initiatives of the Jobs Committee and track progress.
c. Organize Lunch & Learn events for CWS prospects to enhance engagement and recruitment.
d. Plan and execute job acquisition events to connect with potential corporate partners.
4. Marketing and Communications
a. Create, manage, and update marketing materials for the CWS, including website content, the corporate wall, and corporate partner lists.
b. Engage corporate partners through direct communication, including sending thank you cards and annual reports.
c. Support the onboarding process for new corporate partners, including facilitating introductions, providing training and resources, and ensuring a smooth transition into our partnership program.
5. Data Management and Reporting
a. Assist the VP of CWS with collecting, analyzing, and reporting relevant data to stakeholders.
b. Support the request and writing of grants to secure funding for the CWS.
6. Community Engagement and Outreach
a. Make cold calls and actively seek new job opportunities for student associates.
b. Invite corporate contract signers to student events and ceremonies to foster community involvement and support.
7. Other Duties
a. Conduct a minimum of 2 site visits per year (Department of Labor requirement).
b. Foster a positive office culture focused on client satisfaction and student support.
c. Manage issues and requests from students, parents, and supervisors in the absence of the VP of CWS.
d. Assist the VP of CWS with office communications and concerns.
e. Demonstrate commitment to the school's mission and standards.
f. Assist in organizing professional development for CWS team and school staff.
g. Support weekend events and activities as needed.
h. Assist with parent-teacher conferences, orientations, and other events.
i. Attend grade level meetings and relay information to the CWS team.
j. Participate in school committees if required.
k. Attend weekly meetings with CWS team and bi-weekly 1:1 session with VP of CWS.
l. Ensure successful job placements for student associates.
m. Supervise the remote hub weekly and serve as the point of contact for communications.
n. Assist with various CWS duties and administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
Successful applicants will embody the mission-commitment, intellectual curiosity, openness to growth, optimism, and enthusiasm that are central to the members of San Miguel High School's team. In addition, applicants should meet or exceed the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Marketing, Education, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development, corporate relations, sales or a related field.
- Strong understanding of corporate partnership development and relationship management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven track record of achieving goals and driving results.
- Experience working in education or with youth development programs is preferred.
- Bilingual: English/Spanish (Preferred)
- Organized, excellent communications skills and technologically savvy (Salesforce, PowerSchool, Canvas, Google Suite/Drive, and Microsoft Office)
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Customer service skills: Ability to work with a range of corporate partners to maintain partnerships
- Track record of working well independently and with others in a fast-paced environment
- Sensitivity to the ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds of the student body
- Flexibility and adaptability as CWS operations develops
- Desire to work with high school students and enthusiasm to further build a positive school
culture and community
