Responsibilities
• Teaches content and skills in subject area utilizing curriculum; provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of students.• Develops lesson plans and administers tests.• Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards, keeps, and maintains records to include attendance reports, checklists, and other recordkeeping activities, as necessary.• Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.• Identifies and evaluates student needs, student progress, and collaborates with other school staff members.• Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress.• Supervises students in assigned out-of-classroom activities during the working day.• Participates in faculty committees and student activities.• Performs other related duties, as assigned.
Requirements
• Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Google Apps;• Knowledge of curriculum and techniques for integrating curriculum, policies, and effective classroom instructional practices;• Effective time management and organizational skills;• Ability to work in a team environment and effectively collaborate with others;• Ability to constantly monitor and supervise the safety and well-being of students;• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;• Ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education;• Ability to infuse technology into the curriculum;• Ability to motivate and inspire students;• Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment;• Ability to maintain order and discipline in a classroom and in other school environments;• Ability to maintain files and records;• Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office, school-based staff, students, parents, and the community.
