Additional information about the company can be found at WhirlpoolCorp.com.This role in summaryWhirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for anAutomation ControlsElectrical Engineer, (Analyst, Engineering) opening to join our Central Manufacturing Engineering Group (CME) located in Marion, OH; Clyde, OH or other Ohio locations dependent on successful candidate location and ability to support all covered facilities.  This role will be onsiteThis position will work closely with North American manufacturing facilities and CME Fabrication Engineers to define capital purchases, from specifying new equipment through handoff to the manufacturing facility.  This position will identify flexible design and process parameters in order to meet customer needs.Your responsibilities will includeThe Central Manufacturing Engineering team for the Laundry Category covers all of the laundry manufacturing facilities in North America.  This group of engineers installs equipment and supports launches in our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will work closely with North American Region (NAR) Laundry manufacturing locations, Engineering & Technology (E&T), Global Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and our new product organization to define, assist in the acquisition of the necessary capital equipment to successfully manufacture and deliver winning new products to the marketplace.  This will cover coveted brands such as Whirlpool, Amana, Estate, KitchenAid, and Maytag. The CME Electrical Engineer will be accountable for:Oversight of End of Line testing equipment and processesOversight of electrical controls and design layout of new equipmentOversight of Safety processes and regulation of new equipment and installationsAssist in maintaining and updating Safety, Programing, Robotic, and Electrical StandardsAssist in new capital acquisition RFP/RFQ and vendor selection processMinimum requirementsAssociate Degreein Electrical Engineering or Technology2+ years of Automation/Controls experience in manufacturing environmentPreferred skills and experiencesExperience working in a heavily automated production environment is desiredStrong interpersonal and team building skills with the ability to work in a team environmentIn-depth knowledge of laundry appliance fabrication and functional testing manufacturing processDemonstrated history of gathering input from key stakeholders and gaining their buy-inExperience with National Instrument equipment and LabVIEW development and troubleshootingExperience with Allen Bradley PLC's along with relay logic and Fanuc robot interfaces is desiredExperience with setting up and troubleshooting ethernet networks and protocolsExperience with Electrical Control design and drawingsExperience in Risk Assessment for equipment process and Safety circuit design and validationExperience with instrumentation and other product testing equipmentUnderstanding of the codes and regulations: National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Occupational Safety and Health (OSH)Familiar with pneumatic and hydraulic circuitsTravel and meet with equipment suppliers at other Whirlpool facilitiesCommunication, presentation skills, and team skills with any level of the organizationSelf-starter with excellent project management and time management skillsRSRWHConnect with us and learn more about Whirlpool CorporationSee what it's like to work at Whirlpool by visiting Whirlpool Careers.
