The Office of Marketing and Communications at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University invite applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), benefit eligible position of Associate Marketing Director. 


The Associate Marketing Director will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading marketing initiatives aimed at engaging prospective students, parents, and alumni. This position is a unique opportunity to contribute to building a dynamic brand for the future under new leadership, ensuring alignment with College of Saint Benedict (CSB) and Saint John's University's (SJU) vision and values. The role involves executing strategic marketing plans, with a focus on developing a new brand identity, launching a new website, and raising the profile of the institutions.

Strategic Leadership: Guide the development and execution of marketing strategies that align with the college's objectives. Collaborate with leadership to translate vision and strategic goals into actionable marketing plans. Brand Development: Lead efforts in creating and launching a new brand identity. Ensure the brand resonates with key stakeholders and reflects the college's mission and values. Website Redesign: Oversee the development and launch of a new, user-friendly website. Ensure the website effectively communicates the college's message and engages target audiences. Public Relations: Collaborate to develop story ideas to enhance the college's visibility and reputation nationally. Build relationships with media outlets and oversee the creation of press materials. Stakeholder Engagement: Develop targeted marketing initiatives to attract prospective students and engage parents and alumni. Utilize various channels and platforms to maximize outreach and impact. Analytics and Reporting: Monitor and analyze marketing campaign performance. Provide insights and recommendations based on data to optimize future marketing efforts. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure cohesive branding and messaging. Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Budget Management: Oversee marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and ROI.  Agency Management: Oversee agency relationships for PR, digital and traditional marketing Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field required; Master's degree preferred. A minimum of five years of progressive experience in marketing, with a proven track record in brand development and strategic marketing planning. Strong leadership and project management skills. Experience with digital marketing, website development, and public relations. Advanced problem-solving abilities sufficient to analyze situations and make decisions based upon research, understanding impact of risks, and negotiation with other individuals and groups. Strong written communication skills sufficient to write, prepare, and edit materials such as articles, memos, reports, presentations, etc., using correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and sentence construction.  Customer services skills sufficient to actively listen to and understand customer needs and provide accurate information and appropriate alternatives in a timely, thorough, courteous, respectful, and professional manner in person, over the phone and in writing. Ability to work with minimal supervision and under multiple deadlines.  A wide degree of creativity and self-motivation is expected. A willingness to improve their skills and knowledge.  This includes attending training seminars and self-study. Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet operational needs.  This includes responding to after-hours/emergency service requests which may require working some evenings and weekends. A willingness to maintain a high level of competence.  Discreet judgment and confidentiality are expected at this level of responsibility. Understanding of the higher education marketing trends and best practices is preferred.  About College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University
