About The Hawbridge School
The Hawbridge School is a tuition-free public charter school serving students in grades k-12. We encourage students from all North Carolina school districts to apply for admission. Our lower school (k-6) is located in a restored mill on the banks of the Haw River in Saxapahaw. This building served as our only location for close to two decades. In 2021, we expanded with a second building across the road to serve our upper school (7-12). Our faculty-designed Hawbridge Model involves differentiated, individualized instruction to foster academic, behavioral, emotional and social development; interdisciplinary teaching; outdoor and place-based education; and most importantly, sustaining a community where everyone feels appreciated and included.
