ASSISTANT CONTROLLER Description: This Assistant Controller position plays a crucial role in supporting the Corporate Controller as they manage a company's accounting and financial activities. This position involves a mix of administrative, analytical, and financial responsibilities. Below are the key duties and qualifications for an Assistant Controller.
Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports. Create financial summary statements for directors and upper management. Review and analyze financial information to ensure accuracy. 2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist Financial Managers with budget preparation. Participate in forecasting the company's financial health. 3. Compliance and Controls:
Ensure all accounting practices adhere to legal guidelines and established accounting principles. Collaborate with the company's financial team to create and maintain internal controls and policies. 4. Record Keeping and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of inventory, fixed assets, and other financial data. Prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts. 5. System Processes and IT Collaboration:
Work with the IT department to maintain financial records and system processes. Identify solutions to discrepancies in financial records. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, CPA or in the process of taking CPA. Three plus years experience in local or regional public accounting a plus Proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Experience with manufacturing and cost accounting. Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, Manufacturing knowledge of accounting is a plus. Experience Level: Intermediate Level
