Summary/Objective: The architectural draftsperson assists with project development using computer-aided drafting and design with Revit based on preliminary concepts, sketches, and other data to produce designs, working drawings, schedules, details, and notes. They work collaboratively with the project architects and project managers to design a visually appealing building that meets the needs of the customer.
Essential Functions: Prepare schematic drawings, working drawings, and renderings using computer-aided drafting and designing with Revit, and other software. Visualize buildings three-dimensionally and translate that into a building model. Ability to create drawings from rough sketches and notes. Participate in all project phases, including presentations, design development, and assembling construction documents as required. Implement corrections, revisions, and red-line changes as needed. Ability to multitask and work on multiple design projects in various stages. Participate in site surveys and properly document findings. Prepare design documents for meetings and attend as required. Coordinate MEPs and structural drawings with architectural drawings. Understand basic architectural terms and building codes. Work Environment The employee will be located in a busy office area. The architectural draftsperson may occasionally make job site visits that may be outdoors. Personal Protective Equipment must be used as situations require.
Physical Demands The architectural draftsperson spends long hours sitting at a desk. The employee spends the majority of their day using office equipment which may cause eye or muscle strain. The employee will occasionally need to lift some of the office equipment, supplies, and materials (15 lbs.) The employee, while attending job sites, may be required to occasionally climb ladders and cross uneven ground.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a non-exempt full-time position. Hours of work are Monday-Friday with 40 hours per week being the expectation. The employee may occasionally have to work evening hours.
Travel: The employee will primarily be at the office with occasional travel to job sites, meetings, and educational training sessions.
Required Education and Experience: -Associates Degree or equivalent training
Preferred Education and Experience: -Working knowledge of Revit
-Previous experience in commercial construction drafting
-Previous experience with Photoshop and Premier Pro
Work Authorization/Clearances: The employee must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and Motor Vehicle Record review. The employee must have a current driver's license.
