Early Childhood Education Adjunct Faculty - Fall Semester 2023
Waubonsee Community College's Visual and Performing Arts, Education, and Sciences division is currently seeking an adjunct instructor to assume teaching duties of the following courses:
ECE101 - Intro to Early Childhood Education
The in-person course meets on MW 11:00 am - 12:15 pm (CST) at Sugar Grove
ECE130 - Observation and Assessment
The hybrid course meets on Mondays 5:00 pm - 6:15 pm (CST) at Aurora Downtown
The lab/clinical/studio portion is conducted asynchronously
Adjunct Faculty in the Visual and Performing Arts, Education, and Sciences report to the Assistant Dean and work collaboratively with full-time faculty in designing lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to ensure that students successfully meet the course outcomes. Responsibilities
Adjunct Faculty provide instruction and monitor teaching/learning effectiveness in courses. This position requires professionals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Incorporating learner-centered principles, candidates for this position must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask as well as the ability to engage students. They must also be able to use technology sufficiently to use a learning management system (Canvas) and respond to email. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for student evaluations, and timely and accurate submission for required instructional paperwork. Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or Master's degree in Education with 18 graduate hours in Early Childhood Education. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching Early Childhood Education at a Community College or Vocational/Technical institution.
Experience teaching traditionally under-served populations.
Experience incorporating technology and multimedia applications into teaching and learning process.
Experience in teaching in multiple instructional modalities.
Experience in utilizing Learning Management Systems.
