Accounts Payable Specialist Full Time (Monday - Friday)
Pay rate: $23 - $25
Are you a detail oriented problem solver with experience in accounting or bookkeeping? Come join our Accounting Team at the world renowned Helen Woodward Animal Center! The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for tracking, posting and processing payment for all Center invoices, maintaining complete and accurate Accounts Payable records, and maintaining collaborative and positive vendor relationships.
Will assist Accounts Payable with daily, weekly, monthly, and annual duties. Responsible for a multitude of duties which may include auditing check requests, invoices, purchase requisitions, accounting forms as they are matched to invoices before they are entered as batches to be posted into SAGE; follow up with department managers for corrections or signatures; preparation for the weekly check run (posting batches, printing checks, preparing checks for review and signature, mailing checks). May work with vendors for invoices, statements, or uncashed checks; reconcile vendor statements and follow up on any discrepancies or unpaid invoices and review General Ledger for accuracy. Will maintain confidentiality and organized record keeping of all records with Accounts Payable related paper and electronic documents and assist with other ad-hoc projects.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST :
Requires a minimum of two years of Accounts Payable or bookkeeping experience with a strong knowledge of Word and Excel. Basic Accounting course and prior experience with Sage 100 software preferred. Must be able to process a high volume of data, meet deadlines, be detail oriented and organized, maintain a high degree of accuracy, excellent written and oral communication, and friendly and professional customer service and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work calmly under pressure, be self-motivated, and goal-driven.
