JOB SUMMARY:Supports the Tech I Lead and/or management as a Crew Chief to coordinate activities for technicians in all assigned venues and maintains venue technical show quality by performing the following duties. Assist with the operation and execution of entertainment parades. Leads crew and applies advance level knowledge in operation of entertainment floats and advance show system including audio, video, lighting, special effect, and show action equipment.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Acts as Crew Chief leading daily operations of the Floats as assigned within the parade, venue, or event. Responsible for the safe operation and physical movement of Entertainment floats in shows, backstage and on parade route. Oversees placement, dispatch and receiving of all floats while maintaining proper timing of step off. Assist with other job functions as needed.Assists in assigning work tasks to qualified technicians. Supports the startup and shutdown of work activities and fills in for shows when required. Facilitates communication and coordination with the Tech I lead and/or management as necessary. Conveys resource requirements and work plans to maintain effective communication between technicians, Tech I Leads, and other management personnel. Monitors Team Member productivity and their adherence to Technical Entertainment standards, safety protocols, wardrobe/grooming guidelines, driving regulations, radio usage policies, and other UO policies. Reports any instances of non-compliance to the relevant venue and/or technical leadership.Assists in technical training and implementation of all training materials. Maintains and shares job knowledge and assists in developing employees.Assist with inventory of tools, equipment, material, and other UO property, ensuring proper care, maintenance, and storage is upheld. Ensures a safe working environment and assists with regular inspections. Ensure all floats are thoroughly cleaned, inspected, and reset correctly at the end of each shift. Notify management of any material needs or safety concerns.Troubleshoot and identify technical issues and when to escalate to the responsible maintenance team and management.Ensures proper completion of all technical documentation; to include daily checklists, SOPs, daily FYI, inventory, and other such documentation. Complete required training documentation including assessments and check off lists.Accountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures, as defined by the Entertainment Department, governing the safe operation of all technical equipment.Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION:High school degree or GED: is required.Technical school: is preferred.Associate degree (AA): is preferred.Bachelor's degree: is preferred.EXPERIENCE:3-5 years' experience using advanced control systems, likely within the theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Proven ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Prior experience in the operation of parade float vehicles or operation of large vehicles preferred.Advance knowledge in technical disciplines needed to operate assigned venue.Basic computer skills with basic experience in Microsoft Office suiteOr equivalent combination of education and experienceCERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Valid FL Driver's License requiredYour talent, skills and experience will be rewarded with a competitive compensation package.Universal Orlando Resort.Here you can.Universal Orlando is an equal opportunity employer.
