JOB SUMMARY:Supports management in coordinating the daily operation of assigned venue and maintains venue technical show quality. Assist with the operation and execution of entertainment parades. Leads crew and applies expert level knowledge in the operation of parade floats and advance show system including audio, video, lighting, special effect, and show action equipment.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversees the daily operations of Technical Entertainment systems, including planning, delegation, and coordination of work tasks. Effectively delegates work assignments among qualified crewmembers, leads crews during work startup and stoppage, and communicates performance expectations. Ensures compliance with safety guidelines, standard operating procedures, and company policies. Coordinates with other departments, communicates resource needs, and provides two-way communication between technicians, supervisors, and management. Monitors employee productivity, monitors weather, float readiness, enforces compliance with UO policies, and reports non-compliance issues to appropriate leadership.Maintains and shares job knowledge and assists in developing employees. Communicates performance expectations and provide technical training for best practices/techniques along with feedback to technicians. Provides technical show notes and lead observations for assigned technicians to venue management to ensure high standards of show quality are maintained.Maintains a safe working environment on the floats, at show and staging areas and in the float storage facility. Observes environment, team members, and all people, reporting safety concerns to Management and/or acting immediately as necessary.Maintains inventory of tools, equipment, material, and other UO property, ensuring proper care, maintenance, and storage is upheld. Ensures a safe working environment and assists with regular inspections. Notify Management of any material needs or safety concerns.Partners with responsible maintenance team to trouble shoot issues and escalate to management as appropriate. Ensures all daily, weekly, and monthly maintenances checks are completed.Ensures proper completion of all technical documentation, to include daily checklists, SOPs, Daily FYI, inventory and other such documentation. Complete required training documentation including assessments and check off lists.Accountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures, as defined by the Entertainment Department, governing the safe operation of all technical equipment.Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION:High school degree or GED: is required.Technical school: is preferred.Associate degree (AA): is preferred.Bachelor's degree: is preferred.EXPERIENCE:3-5 years' experience providing work direction leading knowledgeable individuals and promoting teamwork dynamics.5-8 years' experience using advanced control systems, likely within the theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Proven ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Prior experience in the operation of parade float vehicles or operation of large vehicles.Subject matter expert in technical disciplines needed to operate assigned venue.Emergency Repairs, Parts Assembly, and networking preferred.Basic computer skills with basic experience in Microsoft Office suiteOr equivalent combination of education and experience.CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Valid FL Driver's License requiredYour talent, skills and experience will be rewarded with a competitive compensation package.Universal Orlando Resort.Here you can.Universal Orlando is an equal opportunity employer.
