Each position is vital to our operation and we are looking for hardworking, customer-service oriented candidates to fill these positions. Our Event Security team members play a pivotal role in creating a safe environment for our guests from the moment they enter the facility until the moment they depart. While there are several Event Security positions during a given event, we are specifically looking for those with a valid Florida Class D License to provide security at our ingress points.Hours per week may vary due to the event schedule, with shifts offered including days, nights, weekends, and possibly holidays.Essential Functions: Monitoring of access to restricted areas, exterior doors to the arena, and maintaining a secure environment for our visitorsControlling guest & vendor access to the ArenaChecking credentials to control employee and visitor access to the facility during eventsInspecting items that do not pass through magnetometers, possibly using a security wand to screen guests for prohibited itemsMonitor and respond to any security issues that may arise during an eventProvide excellent customer service to enhance War Memorial Auditorium / Baptist Health IcePlex experienceEscorting of guests when neededFollow safety and security policies, programs, and procedures with the ability to manage crisis situations Ability to handle radios, speaking openly and professionally, demonstrating strong verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with other employeesReport any and all incidents to Supervisor or ManagementOther duties as assignedQualifications:High School Diploma or EquivalentValid State of Florida D Security LicensePrevious experience in security and customer service is a mustExhibit an upbeat, friendly service-oriented attitude, actively looking for ways to help peoplePassion to work with people and willingness to learnExcellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skillsAssertive, detail-oriented, team player with a professional demeanorSelf-motivator with the ability to work alone if necessaryMust have a flexible schedule and be available on weekend/overnights.Have reliable transportationMust pass background checkWork EnvironmentThis position works in an arena where the noise level is generally high, crowd traffic is heavy, temperatures are variable – often cold; lights are bright or dark with occasional exposure to flashing lights and pyrotechnics.
