Position Summary: This position requires the ability to underwrite property accounts, provide technical expertise in this area, maintain and improve market growth regionally.
Essential Functions: The underwriting, rating, quoting, and binding property accounts in accordance with RSUM guidelines specific to your Underwriting Letter of Authority granted by the team leader and/or Chief Underwriting Officer. Assist in developing, enhancing, and maintaining underwriting methods and techniques, achieving underwriting integrity in a cost-effective manner. Complete documentation and management of all accounts assigned. Ability to handle a relatively high volume of transactions, of small and mid-sized accounts of varying complexity. Underwriters are accountable to permissible loss/ratio standards. Participate in underwriting meetings/educational seminars/continued education courses. Other relevant duties as assigned Education/Experience/Skills: 3+ years commercial property underwriter experience. Bachelor's degree or commensurate education and/or work experience. AIM agency management system skills highly desirable. Demonstrated proficient technical underwriting expertise. Strong analytical, mathematical, decision making and negotiation skills. Self-directed, goal oriented Individual with problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Customer service skills: listening and understanding client business priorities. Strong relationship development skills. Ability to set priorities and meet challenging deadlines. Critical attention to details. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel. Proven track record of being a team player.
